Nice but did not fit and not quite what I wanted.Review by W. Brunner, 2010-01-16
I am one to order only quality items such as my 25+ yr old Marmot Down Jacket, which has lasted me decades and still looks like new, and expected this to be of that quality. I was not concerned what it cost. I was looking to replace a very well used LLBean down vest which is no longer available.
I called the company to make sure I was ordering the right size even having the person compare the measurements to my LLBean vest. After receiving the item today, I was very disappointed to find that the jacket was quite a bit too small. I am 6', 205lbs and have a 42" chest but a long torso and had ordered a size L. Possibly the XL would have fit.
They also use a left hand sipper pull at this company (I don't recall having seen that in the description of the jacket) which is considered a woman's jacket here in the US), and then got socked with the additional $10 shipping fees (my fault), which I did not see until after I ordered the jacket.
It now has to be shipped back to Canada. I am gong to continue to look for a quality jacket that is made in a tall. I had a perfectly decent 600 down vest from Cabela's for $45 which I gave away as gift for the Holiday. While not as stylish IMO, the fit and function of that vest was just as good as this.
I just really happened to like the way this looked in the advertising, and had would have kept it even with the left hand zipper had it fit properly. I do not think I gave it a fair amount of time for the down to loft and fill out the vest in regard to how it looks, seeing how it was really stuffed in a box and in route for quite some time. Overall, with the additional cost of shipping, the sizing issue and time taken until it was received, this was one of few shopping experiences I am less than thrilled with on Amazon, which is not their fault.

One day after I placed this order I received a call from the distributor in Vancouver BC Outdoor Systems. Ching called me 3 times to make sure I was aware that the product might not arrive from Canada in time for the Christmas holiday and to let me know the cost of expediting the product to Oregon. She wanted to insure I still wanted to purchase...I did!
